She graduated from Wilmington High School and earned her BA in theatre and anthropology from Williams College in 1998, and further earned her Juris Doctor cum laude from Pace University School of Law.
From 2005 to 2008, Janée worked as a litigation attorney for two different law firms. After that, she worked as a Program Officer for Everyday Democracy from 2010 to 2015 before serving as a Trainer and Consultant for the National Conference for Community and Justice. Currently, Janée is serving as the Director of Organizational Culture for the William Caspar Graustein Memorial Fund, a role she took on since 2016.
