Lisa is a 2019 graduate of the Emerge Connecticut program and is currently serving on the Middletown Board of Education, a role she was elected to in 2017.
Lisa’s 17 years in public education include teaching students of diverse abilities and backgrounds in suburban and urban schools both neighborhood and magnet, and co-teaching with a special education teacher for 6 years. She has been department and data team leader, and is now a full-time instructional coach for a network of schools in Hartford. Her practice is focused on closing the opportunity and achievement gap through a strong focus on equity pedagogy. She is strongly committed to social justice, having created and taught English and Social Justice courses in grades 7-12 at Hartford public schools.
Lisa holds a BA magna cum laude in English Language and Literature from Skidmore College, an MA in Liberal Studies from Wesleyan University, an Administrative Certification in Education from Sacred Heart University, and is currently pursuing an EdD in Educational Leadership and Administration from Central Connecticut State University.
